Gilman Fly America Act Guidelines

Guidelines for Gilman Scholarship recipients on complying with the Fly America Act when purchasing flights for study abroad programs.

Requirements
Must use U.S. flag carrier or compliant Open Skies carrier for flights funded by the U.S. Government.; Compliance is mandatory even if foreign carriers are more convenient or cheaper.; Code-sharing with a U.S. flag carrier is compliant if the U.S. carrier's code is on the ticket.; Open Skies Agreements apply with Australia, EU, Japan, and Switzerland under specific conditions.
