Must have completed a first degree (e.g., Bachelor's or Diplom) by the start of the funding period; Must be applying for a postgraduate or Master's degree program at a state or state-recognized university in Germany; Funding is not available for Master's programs already begun in Germany

Academic qualification; Academic achievements; School leaving certificate (if applicable); Knowledge of language(s) of instruction; Relevant internships or work experience; Quality of study project and preparation
