$5,000 per year for a doctoral student (up to two years)
Eligibility
U.S. citizen or permanent resident; Entering or enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program in information science or librarianship at an accredited U.S. university, ALA-accredited program, or iSchools iCaucus member; Students in closely related disciplines may be considered if the study relates to information management/studies; Staff, officers, and families of CNI, ARL, and EDUCAUSE are ineligible; Previous recipients are ineligible
Requirements
Commitment to digital information and advanced technology to enhance scholarship and public life; Interest in civic responsibilities of information professionals and democratic values; Positive and creative approach to challenges; Demonstration of humor, vision, humanity, and imagination; Must complete at least six credit hours of coursework per semester during the award period
Application materials
300–500-word essay addressing qualifications, intellectual interests, and career objectives; Curriculum vitae or resume with contact information; Two letters of recommendation
