Must be a doctoral student enrolled at a PhD-granting institution of higher education accredited in and physically located in the United States.; Research must utilize a sociological perspective and contribute to the advancement of sociological knowledge.; Must have completed all departmental pre-dissertation requirements (coursework, comprehensive exams, and dissertation prospectus defense) at the time of application.; Must be sponsored by a faculty member at the institution where the applicant is enrolled.; Must not have previously received an NSF-funded DDRIG from any organization.

Single-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman font.; 8.5 by 11 inch paper size with 1-inch margins.; Repeating header with proposal title on every page.; No hyperlinks, footnotes, endnotes, or appendices.; All documents must be uploaded as PDFs.; Use of provided ASA templates for biosketch, budget, CPS, and letters.
