Doctoral students enrolled in modern foreign language training and area studies programs at U.S. IHEs.; U.S. institutions of higher education (IHEs) are the legal applicants.
Requirements
Research project focusing on specific geographic areas (Africa, East Asia, etc.).; Focus on Priority Languages (excluding French, German, or Spanish) is a competitive preference.; Thematic focus on science, technology, engineering, mathematics, etc., is a competitive preference.; Must intend to engage in full-time dissertation research abroad.; Application narrative limited to 10 pages; bibliography to 2 pages.
