Boren Scholarships: 8-11 weeks: $8,000 (STEM majors only)
Eligibility
U.S. citizens at the time of application deadline; High school graduate or GED; At least 18 years of age; Planning overseas program outside Western Europe, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand; Planning to study in a country of which they are not a citizen; Matriculated in a U.S. accredited degree program
Requirements
Intensive language study component (at least 15-20 weekly hours); Program duration of at least 12 weeks (8 weeks for undergraduate STEM majors); Study in a preferred overseas destination where the language is spoken
Important dates
Funding for programs starting as early as June 2027; Funding for programs starting as late as March 1, 2028; Funding for expenses after May 31, 2028 contingent upon availability
