Eligibility

Ability to obtain a future security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.; Currently enrolled in a graduate degree or doctorate program or have within 18 months prior to application deadline.; Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.; Available to work full time for the duration of the one-year fellowship.

Requirements

Federal background investigation.; Demonstration of non-use of federally illegal drugs for twelve consecutive months.; Review of employment and school records.; Criminal history.; Financial and credit history.; Academic performance and attendance.

Application materials

SF-86 Form for DOE security clearances.

Important dates

Application opens: August 1, 2026; Application closes: October 3, 2026; Fellowships begin: June 2027; Fellowships complete: June 2028
