U.S. citizens; Full-time, uninterrupted study toward a doctoral degree; Accredited U.S. university; First-, second-, or third-year Ph.D. students; At least 18 months remaining in academic program as of Sept 1, 2026

Requirements

Pursuing research in fields supported by the DOE NNSA LRGF; Complete a minimum of two 12-week laboratory research residencies at approved NNSA sites; Department must waive any teaching requirements beyond one term; Fellowship must be renewed annually for up to four years; Demonstrate acceptable academic performance and progress
