Eligibility

Cornell sophomores; Must declare a major or minor in the humanities; Must be fully enrolled at Cornell University

Requirements

Complete five approved courses (SHUM 2750, 3750, 4750 and two electives); Produce an honors thesis or capstone project; Present at the annual Humanities Scholars Conference

Application materials

Electronic transcript (eTranscript); Short essay (700 words maximum)

How to apply

Submit application materials online during the sophomore year; Applications for the 2027-2029 cohort are expected to open in January 2027
