Eligibility
Host institutions determine eligibility for host researchers.; Overseas researchers must use a passport for entry into Japan to determine nationality.; Individuals with Japanese citizenship or permanent residency cannot apply for Postdoctoral Fellowships.; Dual nationals may apply if they renounce Japanese citizenship before arrival.; Professional degrees from Japan or MD/JD from the U.S. are not considered doctoral degrees.
How to apply
Host researchers need an ID and password for the JSPS Electronic Application System.; Contact the administrative office of the research institution to obtain system access.; JSPS does not introduce foreign researchers to host researchers or vice versa.; Candidates can withdraw by notifying JSPS through their Host institution.; For Short-term (PA) Program, apply through the nominating authority in your country.
