Eligibility

US citizens or permanent residents; Ph.D. or equivalent experience for Scholars/Researchers; ABD status by fellowship start for Doctoral Candidates; Proficient in Japanese or English; Must secure affiliation arrangements by deadline

Requirements

Research project must require residence in Japan; Must devote full time to research; No concurrent funding from other Japan Foundation programs; Cannot receive other grants covering travel/stipend to Japan; Must secure own long-term accommodations
