Application Process - Jamestowne Society
Information on the Jamestowne Society membership application process, including eligibility criteria, required documents, fees, and contact information for the Executive Director.
Stockholder in London Company or Virginia Company.; Member of Guilds owning stock during investment period.; Signer of Virginia Company charters (1606-1624).; Owned land on Jamestown Island or lived there prior to 1700.; Resident in Virginia at the time of the 1624/25 Muster or earlier.; Served as Governor, Secretary of State, Treasurer, Attorney General, Clerk, Council, or House of Burgesses prior to 1700.
Requirements
Contact a member to express interest.; If no known member, contact Executive Director with autobiography, ancestor name, mailing address, and phone number.; Receive an invitation to apply.; Return completed membership application and proof documents by mail.; Application must be completed using Society's software and signed by applicant and sponsor.; Email completed application to Executive Director.

How to apply
Contact a known member or the Executive Director to express interest and receive an invitation.; Complete the membership application using the Society's software.; Gather and copy primary source documents proving ancestor's eligibility.; Sign the application with a sponsor.; Mail the completed application and proof documents.; Email the completed application to the Executive Director.
Important dates
You will have a year to complete the application.; A $50 late filing fee will be added if you go beyond the year.
