Eligibility
Under 36 years of age at the time of the letter of interest due date.; Strong and credible ties to US society (US citizenship not required).; Excellent written and spoken English-language skills.; Must have completed current phase of formal education (no currently enrolled undergraduate students).; Necessary language skills for proposed projects.
Requirements
Proposed fellowship must enrich public life in the US by advancing understanding of foreign countries, cultures, and trends.; Fellowships are not for degree programs, book writing, or academic research.; Fellowships are not for covering news events or for freelance journalism.; Fellows are expected to spend time researching and writing dispatches for the institute.; Fellows are not permitted to engage in overtly political activities.
