Eligibility
Under 36 years of age at the time of the letter of interest due date.; Strong and credible ties to US society (US citizenship not required).; Excellent written and spoken English-language skills.; Completed current phase of formal education (not for currently enrolled undergraduates).; Necessary language skills for proposed projects.
Requirements
Proposed fellowship must enrich public life in the US by advancing understanding of foreign countries, cultures, and trends.; Projects should be of topical interest but not cover news events.; Fellowships are not for freelance journalism.; Fellows are expected to spend two years immersed in their area of study.; Fellows are not permitted to engage in overtly political activities.
