Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program

Information about the Fulbright FLTA Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, for non-U.S. college graduates and young teachers interested in teaching their native language and culture in the U.S.

Eligibility
Reside in the country of nomination at the time of application.; Possess the equivalent of a U.S. Bachelor's degree with a good academic record.; Early career teacher of English or training to become one, or an early career educator in a related field.; Sincere interest in teaching native language and culture to U.S. students.; Fluent in English (TOEFL 550 paper, 79-80 IBT, or IELTS 6.0 overall).; Do not hold U.S. citizenship; dual citizens are not eligible.
Requirements
Nominated by a U.S. Embassy or Fulbright Commission; independent applicants do not qualify.; Able to work creatively and be self-reliant.; Willing to work cooperatively as part of a team.; Flexible and adaptable.; Demonstrate maturity, dependability, integrity, and professionalism.
