For Visiting Professors: Must be Full or Associate Professor, apply from outside Israel, and typically expected to teach.; For Post-Doctoral Researchers: Doctorate received not earlier than Oct 1, 2020 (for 2025-2026 academic year).; Post-doctoral researchers with prior research at Hebrew University may have eligibility limitations.; Candidates submitting dissertations between Jan 1, 2023 and Sep 30, 2023 may apply, with payment contingent on submission proof.; Must have an academic sponsor with rank of Lecturer or above on the Regular Academic Track.
Requirements
Must have an academic sponsor willing to actively support the research proposal.; Sponsors in Science, Computer Science & Engineering, Medicine, Dentistry, and Agriculture are expected to cover a percentage of the fellowship cost.; Sponsor must have the rank of Lecturer or above on the Regular Academic Track.; Sponsor must not be on Sabbatical or unpaid leave during the fellowship year.; Sponsor must assess if research can be completed in one year or needs an extension.
Application materials
A letter of sponsorship from an academic sponsor is required.; Sponsor must clearly indicate no plans for Sabbatical or unpaid leave.; Sponsor must assess research completion time and need for extension.
How to apply
Establish contact with a relevant Faculty or Department at Hebrew University to secure a sponsor.; Submit application through the 'Major' Faculty/Department if inter-disciplinary research.; Click on the link to access the online application system if minimum criteria are fulfilled.
Important dates
For Academic Year 2025-2026, Doctorate must be received not earlier than October 1, 2020.; Dissertation submission/approval deadline: September 30, 2023 (for those applying while submitting).
