Foreign national; Enrolled in doctoral program or obtained doctorate within 8 years (as of April 1, 2027); Sufficient fluency in Japanese or English; Not a previous recipient of this fellowship; Not currently enrolled in Hosei University
Requirements
Submit a research report (approx. 30 A4 pages) within one month of program completion; Publicly present or publish research findings within 2 years of program completion; Acknowledge HIF Fellowship in publications; Give lectures/seminars to Hosei faculty, staff, and students
Application materials
Application form (Word data); Main thesis or book (Word data); Summary of thesis/book (Word data); Letter of recommendation from head of applicant's institution; Letter of recommendation from academic supervisor/collaborator; Proof of final degree
How to apply
Download application form from the Global Education Center website; Submit all documents except recommendation letters via email; Recommendation letters must be sent directly from the recommender to the coordinator

Application Deadline: June 1, 2026; Selection Results Notification: December 1, 2026; Fellowship Start: April or October 2027
