Eligibility
Must hold MD or DO degree (MD/PhDs are not eligible); Must have completed residency and clinical training; Must be U.S. Specialty Board eligible prior to award start date; Must be able to devote at least 80% time and effort to research; Cannot have more than three years of postdoctoral laboratory research experience; Must apply prior to initial assistant professorship appointment
Requirements
Must devote at least 80% effort to research; Must have a Mentor with a proven track record in training MDs/DOs; Must submit a formal research proposal; Must provide a letter of commitment from the institution/department; Must apply to the NIH Loan Repayment Program to be eligible for Damon Runyon debt repayment
