Overview and application guidelines for the Damon Runyon Clinical Investigator Award, which supports independent young physician-scientists conducting innovative, disease-oriented cancer research.
Must hold an independent Assistant Professor position or equivalent at a U.S. institution; Must be nominated by their institution (limited to 3 nominations per institution); Must have an MD, DO, or MD/PhD degree; Must have completed subspecialty training and be U.S. Board eligible; Must hold a valid, active U.S. medical license; Must apply within the first 4 years of Assistant Professor appointment (Cut-off: July 1, 2022)
Requirements
Institutional nomination required; Must adhere to the 'Handshake Rule' (direct patient involvement); Must apply in conjunction with a Mentor; Must report all current and pending grant support; Must apply to the NIH Loan Repayment Program to be eligible for Damon Runyon debt repayment
