General eligibility guidelines for international students and scholars at North American universities applying for DAAD programs.
International students and scholars at North American universities are generally eligible if they meet specific program requirements.; German citizens educated in Germany must have lived in Canada or the US for at least six consecutive years and prove their 'Lebensmittelpunkt' is in North America.; Dual nationals (Canada/US + Germany) who completed most of their education in the US or Canada and graduated with a US/Canadian high school diploma are eligible.; Applicants must intend to return to North America at the conclusion of their grant period.
