Eligibility

Doctoral candidates at a university or research institution outside Germany; Postdocs (up to 4 years after completing their doctorate); Applicants must not be conducting their entire doctorate at a German university

Requirements

Research project at a state or state-recognized university or non-university research institution in Germany; Coordination with a scientific supervisor in Germany; Academic qualifications (grades, study progress, publications, conference contributions); Quality and feasibility of the research project; Potential of the applicant (career prospects, motivation, extracurricular engagement)

Select status and country of origin on the DAAD portal to access the application form; Specify desired funding duration in the application form; Ensure the funding start date is within 2027
