DAAD German Studies Conference Funding

Application guidelines and eligibility requirements for DAAD co-funding to organize workshops, seminars, and conferences focused on German studies in the US and Canada.

Honoraria of up to USD 500 for keynote speakers
Eligibility
Faculty members; Advanced students in the humanities, social sciences and related fields; Projects must be of limited duration; Projects must have a clearly defined goal; Projects must be carried out within the applicable calendar year
Requirements
A minimum of 50% of project costs must be contributed from other sources; In-kind contributions (e.g., meeting space, equipment) do not count toward the 50% requirement; Funding cannot be used for institutional funding, annual meetings of societies, or solely to finance publications; Funding cannot cover transatlantic travel; DAAD does not fund office overhead or indirect costs at North American universities

Comprehensive project description including project rationale; Preliminary program and speaker list; Information on project publicity, outreach activities and target audience; Detailed budget including all prospective funding sources
