1.400 euros monthly scholarship payment

Eligibility

Doctoral students at a university/research institution outside Germany; Postdocs (up to 4 years after completing doctorate); US or Canadian citizens or permanent residents; Foreign nationals living in the USA/Canada who gained their last degree there; Must not have been resident in Germany for longer than 15 months at the application deadline

Requirements

Doctoral students: Start of doctorate no more than 3 years ago at application deadline; Postdocs: Doctorate completed no more than 4 years before application deadline; Research project must be in agreement with a scientific supervisor in Germany; DAAD Language Evaluation Form (Sprachnachweis)

Application materials

Curriculum vitae (max 3 pages); List of publications (max 10 pages, mandatory for postdocs); Letter of motivation (1-2 pages); Research proposal (max 10 pages); Time schedule of research work; Proof of admission/enrolment for doctoral studies
