Eligibility

Domestic and foreign non-profit organizations (universities, colleges, hospitals, labs, government units).; Applicants must hold an M.D., D.M.D., D.V.M., D.O., Ph.D., or equivalent degree with a faculty position or equivalent.; For-profit entities and industry collaborations are welcome (contact Breakthrough T1D scientific contact prior to submission).; For clinical studies, applicants must hold an appointment in a subspecialty of clinical medicine and conduct clinical research.; Encourages proposals from all qualified individuals and a broad cross-section of researchers.

Requirements

Letters of Intent (LOIs) are sought.; Projects should focus on validating predictive power of established in vitro models.; Proposals should aim to generate data supporting future NAM-based preclinical evaluation.; Projects contributing to FDA-recommended steps (mapping endpoints, supporting NAM development, establishing validation pathways) are viewed favorably.; Preference for proposals building on established, clinically relevant, tunable, reproducible, and informative platforms using human cellular components.
