Eligibility

Republic of China (ROC) citizens; Doctoral candidates in the last stage of Ph.D. research; Enrolled at an accredited university in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, or South America; Graduated from an accredited university or college in the Republic of China; No foreign permanent residence status or citizenship in the Americas; Not employed full-time during the grant period

Requirements

Research topics related to Chinese culture and society, the development of the Republic of China, or Taiwan Studies; Fields: literature, history, philosophy, linguistics, art, sociology, anthropology, psychology, political science, legal studies, economics, or media studies; Must have qualified for Ph.D. candidacy; Must be in the last year of doctoral program

Application materials

Project description (max 7 pages); Departmental letter demonstrating proof of candidacy; Official transcript(s); Copy of ROC passport and valid visa; Curriculum vitae (English and Chinese); Two letters of recommendation (one from dissertation advisor)

How to apply

Submit application via online application database; Combine all relevant documents into one PDF file (max 5 MB); Mail or email letters of recommendation to the Foundation's Taipei Headquarters
