Must be a Republic of China (ROC) citizen; Must be a doctoral candidate in the last stage of Ph.D. research; Must be enrolled at an accredited university in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, or South America; Must have graduated from an accredited university or college in the ROC; Must not have foreign permanent residence status or citizenship; Must not be employed full-time during the grant period
Requirements
Research topics related to Chinese culture and society, the development of the ROC, or Taiwan Studies; Fields include: literature, history, philosophy, linguistics, art, sociology, anthropology, psychology, political science, legal studies, economics, or media studies; Must have completed all other Ph.D. requirements; Must be in the last year of the doctoral program

Project description (max 7 pages, English or Chinese); Departmental letter demonstrating proof of candidacy; Official transcript(s); Copy of ROC passport and valid visa; Curriculum vitae (English and Chinese); Two letters of recommendation (including one from dissertation advisor)
