Filing Your Tax Return with IIE's Participant Tax Services

Guidance for IIE program participants on using the Sprintax system to file U.S. Nonresident Alien Income Tax Returns.

Eligibility
Individuals present in the U.S. on a J or F visa who received funding from IIE.
Requirements
Must file a U.S. Nonresident Alien Income Tax Return and/or Statement for Exempt Individuals (Form 8843).; Must use Form 1042-S when completing tax returns.; Must use IIE's designated Sprintax system if required by the program.; IRS requires only one tax return per year.

Form 1042-S; Form 1040NR; Form 8843; W2 or 1099 (if applicable)
How to apply
Access the Sprintax system using credentials provided by IIE.; If not contacted, email tax@iie.org for filing instructions.; Follow Sprintax guidance to prepare Federal and State tax returns.
Important dates
March 15: Form 1042-S is issued via the Sprintax system.
