Eligibility

U.S. citizen; Pre-doctoral candidates (ABD); Postdoctoral scholars; Faculty and senior scholars; Independent scholars (holding a PhD or terminal degree)

Requirements

Minimum stay of three months, maximum stay of 12 months; Must be at an accredited university in the U.S. or abroad; Requires security clearance from the Egyptian government; Research must not focus on sensitive topics like military, religious movements, or current century politics

Application materials

Online application form; 1500 word research proposal; Two recommendation letters; One language proficiency recommendation letter (for pre-doctoral applicants); Graduate and undergraduate transcripts (for pre-doctoral applicants); Ministry security forms (Antiquities or Higher Education)
