Eligibility

US-based graduate students; Enrolled and in good academic standing at a doctoral degree-granting university; University must be accredited in and have a campus located in the United States; Must have completed all preliminary degree requirements, including comprehensive exams and dissertation prospectus defense, on or before August 15 of the grant cycle year; Foreign citizens are eligible if at a US-accredited university with a US campus

Requirements

Must be conducting empirical dissertation research; Must provide proof of IRB approval/exemption for human subjects research; Must inform APSA of all additional sources of funding; Grantees must submit financial paperwork, a public-facing summary, attend professional development, document spending, and submit final/interim reports

Proposal summary; Project description and research plan; Other sources of financial support; Professional development plan; Budget and budget justification; Data management plan

How to apply

Submit proposal through the online application submission system; Enter adviser's name and email to trigger the Adviser Support Form request; Upload placeholder materials if requesting a signature extension before the deadline
