Eligibility

US-based graduate students; Enrolled at a doctoral degree granting university at the time of application; University must be accredited in and have a campus physically located in the United States; Must have completed all preliminary degree requirements, including comprehensive exams and dissertation prospectus defense; Must be sponsored by dissertation adviser; Must be endorsed by graduate institution

Requirements

Research must be basic, theoretically derived, and empirically oriented; Research must focus on citizenship, government, and politics; Cannot support applied research
