Must hold a doctoral degree; Must have a full-time faculty or professional appointment at a non-profit research institution in the US; Must have held a K or R type award within the 5 years preceding the application; Must not have been PI on three or more large federal research grants (e.g., RO1, UO1, PO1, VA Merit); Must be authorized to work in the United States
Requirements
Institutional commitment from Department Chair or equivalent; Evidence of prior excellence and productivity; Limit of one American Lung Association application per annual cycle; Grant can be awarded to an individual only once; IACUC and IRB approvals required prior to award start
