Award amount

$50,000 per year for up to two years

Eligibility

Must hold a relevant doctoral degree (PhD, DSc, MD, DO, etc.); Must be affiliated with a recognized academic or non-profit institution in the United States; Must be authorized to work in the United States; Early career faculty or fellows (Postdoctoral or Medical) seeking mentored research training; MD/DO applicants must have completed two years of research training post-degree; Not eligible: Medical residents, current degree program students, and established investigators

Requirements

Must have a mentor with a demonstrated history of lung disease research and mentorship; Institutional commitment required from Department Chair; Must certify employment authorization in the US; Limited to one American Lung Association application per cycle; Grant can be awarded only once per applicant

Biographical Sketch (NIH-style, max 5 pages); Mentor letter of recommendation; Department Chair letter of institutional commitment; Project title and research proposal
