Information and application guidelines for the DAAD/AGI Research Fellowship, supporting scholars researching German-American relations at the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies.
German nationals who are doctoral candidates or have earned a doctorate; Non-German nationals who are doctoral candidates or have earned a doctorate and are permanently living in Germany; German and foreign doctoral candidates and PhD researchers at DAAD Centers for German and European Studies; Must be active at an academic institution, think tank, or public policy/research organization; Must not have received DAAD support within three years of the fellowship start date (excluding DAAD Center affiliates)
Requirements
Proficiency in English; Must be eligible for a J-1 visa; Research topic must relate to AGI's focus areas: Foreign and Security Policy; Society, Culture & Politics; or Geoeconomics
Application materials
Brief cover letter; Curriculum vitae with publication list; Project proposal (5-7 pages); Two recent letters of reference (required for PhD students and recent PhDs)
