Eligibility

Awarded to individuals affiliated with not-for-profit research institutions in the U.S. and abroad.; Not accepted from for-profit organizations or federal/state government agencies (VA and NIH/NIMH eligible).; Individuals can be PI on only one AFSP grant at a time.; Recipients and institutions will not accept funds from other agencies for substantially overlapping research.

Requirements

Applications evaluated on research potential, innovation, methodology, applicant qualifications, and available facilities.; Prior research or training in a related field is expected.; Grants support new directions in suicide research.; Study must begin within six months of award date, but no later than January 1st.

Application materials

Applications submitted via online grant application/management system.; Detailed response to feedback letter required for resubmissions (max 3 pages).
