Must be a current or former GFMR Postdoctoral Fellow in Aging Research.; Current or previous recipients of the GFMR Postdoctoral Fellowship Continuation Award are eligible.; Must be a postdoctoral fellow, or institutional equivalent, at the start date of the award (July 1, 2026).; Research must be conducted at a qualified not-for-profit setting in the United States.; Applicants with more than 6 years of postdoctoral training at the time of the award start must provide justification.; Fellows may not hold any concurrent funding for the same research project.
Requirements
Projects must be concerned with understanding the basic mechanisms of aging.; Projects must have potential to lead to clinically relevant strategies that address human aging and healthspan.; Projects investigating age-related diseases are considered if approached from the point of view of basic aging processes.; Projects concerning mechanisms underlying common geriatric functional disorders such as frailty are considered.; Strictly clinical projects (diagnosis, treatment, health outcomes, social context) are not eligible.; Salary/stipend must equal or exceed NIH pay scale for postdoctoral fellowships.
