American Cancer Society (ACS) - EDS Accelerator Award Policies
Official policy document outlining the eligibility, institutional requirements, and application process for the American Cancer Society's Extramural Discovery Science (EDS) Accelerator Award.
Rolling basis; applications expire 60 days after initiation in ProposalCentral.
Eligibility
Independent researchers with a full-time faculty appointment (or equivalent) at an eligible US institution.; Applicants may be at any career stage.; Must be motivated to commercialize their technology.; Only one individual designated as principal investigator.; Applicants may hold other ACS awards concurrently, but cannot hold multiple Accelerator Awards.
Requirements
Must be a not-for-profit institution physically located within the US or its territories.; Must provide evidence of an active research program, fiscal management infrastructure, and appropriate facilities.; Must adhere to DHHS and ACS guidelines regarding conflicts of interest, scientific misconduct, and human/animal subject protections.; IRB and IACUC approvals must be uploaded to ProposalCentral within 3 months of grant activation.

How to apply
Submit applications via ProposalCentral.; Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.; PI must e-sign the application; departmental chair and institutional official signatures are optional for submission but may be required by the institution.

Effective date: April 2026; Decision notification: Within 12 months of submission
