Must be a United States citizen at the time of application (exceptions apply for specific fields); Foreign nationals who have lived in the US for the three years immediately preceding the application deadline may apply for specific fellowships; Undergraduate students are not eligible; Previous winners of the Rome Prize are not eligible to reapply
Requirements
Must demonstrate a need to be in Rome or Italy (for scholars); Must disclose all fellowships and awards expected to hold during residency; Must have health and hospitalization insurance; Must not hold full-time jobs during the fellowship
