US citizens (most fellowships); US citizens or foreign nationals (3 years US residency) for specific fellowships; Graduate students (ABD) for predoctoral humanities fellowships; Previous Rome Prize winners not eligible; Undergraduate students not eligible; May hold other fellowships if no conflict

All materials submitted in English; Letters of recommendation (or references for some disciplines); Separate online application for each category (if multiple); Cannot submit more than one application per category; Demonstrate genuinely collaborative work (for joint applications); Explain why work needs to be done in Rome (Environmental Arts & Humanities)
