Eligibility

Dissertations must make a significant contribution to air quality, waste management, or sustainability.; Doctoral degree must have been awarded between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025.; Nominations must be made by faculty advisors who are members of A&WMA.; Self-nominations by students are not accepted.; Faculty advisors are limited to one nomination per year.

Nomination Form; Cover letter from advisor describing their role and the advisee's intellectual contributions; Nominee's résumé; Complete copy of the thesis or dissertation

How to apply

Faculty advisor must submit the complete nomination packet electronically as a single PDF file to rlebovitz@awma.org.; Submission must be received by Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 1:00pm Eastern Time.

Important dates

Submission deadline: January 14, 2026, at 1:00pm ET; Award presentation: June 21-24, 2026, at the Annual Conference & Exhibition in Austin, Texas
