An undergraduate scholarship providing academic assistance for two years of full-time study and a 10-week, full-time paid summer internship at a NOAA facility.
- Award amount
- Up to $9,500 per academic year for two years of full-time study.
- A 10-week, full-time paid summer internship at $700 per week.
- A housing allowance of $400 per week during the summer internship, provided the scholar does not live at their permanent residence or their permanent residence is more than 50 miles from the internship site.
- Travel funding for mandatory orientation, the annual Science & Education Symposium, and scientific conferences to present research.
Overview
- Second-year undergraduate (sophomore)
- Third-year undergraduate in a five-year program
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Must be currently enrolled or accepted at an accredited college or university in the United States or U.S. territories as a full-time 2nd-year student in a four-year program, a full-time 3rd-year student in a five-year program, or a community college/transfer student applying to a four-year institution.
